There are the occupations that you do to make money, and the others you do because it's what you love to do. We are lucky enough to have both.
This all started 18 years ago when Tom Brzezinski (the big guy on the left) was 19 and still in school at
The University of Michigan. A friend of his and co-founder of the business, John Schumacher, was working for two well known Variety Bands in the Lapeer and Oxford areas, Seabreeze and Traces. They were older gentlemen that have been in the business for a long time and had plenty to teach on how to perform in front of a live crowd. Tom was invited to help out on the weekends to earn extra cash by being their sound engineer for those bands. That education was priceless. Thank you guys, we couldn't have done it without you!
Two years later, John and Tom decided that they could open a DJ service from everything they learned and Lapeer Sound Machine was born.
John has since moved on and today it is run with Tom's wife Jeri. (Tom and Jeri, no joke!). She handles much of the administrative work while the road work is done by Tom.
